NXP Semiconductors N.V. is Hiring an Electronics/PCB Repair Technician Near Austin, TX

JOB SUMMARY:
Looking for Bench Technician with significant electronic repair experience to work in our Internal Repair Facility in Austin, Texas. The purpose of the job is to diagnose, repair, modify, test or verify sub-components of a wide variety of complex automatic/logic controlled electronics or electro-mechanical equipment at a component level. Important duties include using diagnostic techniques; improvising circuits or equipment to special needs; working independently on assigned repairs; performing complex analysis of major malfunctions to the component level. Important skills and abilities include setting up, operating and adjusting complex instrumentation; knowledge of analog, digital, moderate circuit design abilities; above average level of mechanical ability (i.e. considerable knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics and fluidics, working on your own vehicle); and safe working procedures.
Individual must be able to work with minimum supervision in high pressure environment, subject to shifts in priorities. Individual must be able to effectively interface with customers, employees and management. Candidate needs to have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office. Individual must be able to lift 50 pounds in the course of carrying out job duties and follow all safety procedures, including but limited to electrical, chemical and mechanical safety procedures.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Perform trouble shooting on items in need of repair.
  • Perform through-hole, surface mount and fine pitch soldering
  • Have skills to read schematics and understand circuits.
  • Use testing equipment such as voltage meters, ESR, Oscilloscope, signal generators etc.
  • Repair complex PCB and Controllers using root cause methodology down to component level.
  • Able to perform post repair testing with knowledge of load testing and or signal generation.
  • Enter information into our internal data base
Qualifications:
  • Minimum associates degree in Electronics
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working in bench repair field
  • Experience in AC/DC circuit design
Education and Experience:
  • Minimum associates degree in Electronics
  • Minimum 5 years' experience working in bench repair field
  • Experience in AC/DC circuit design
Additional Skills and Targeted Experience:
High Power DC supply repair, testing and calibration ranging from 1kW to 80kW.
AC and DC Servo/Stepper motor rebuild and test.
Advanced experience in AC and DC circuitry, advance test equipment, simulation software, and discrete semiconductor characteristics.
Labview, Multi-Sim, Cadence or equivalent electrical design software.
Hardware programming language (VHDL, Verilogic, JTAG, etc.)
