NWI Aerostructures is Hiring a Deburr 1st Shift Near Wichita, KS
JOB TITLE: DEBURR OPERATOR OBJECTIVE: To deburr, polish, break edges, grind radial, blend mismatch and rework machined, punched, formed, sheared or assembled part to the specifications set forth by customers. Instructions will be derived from blueprints, Engineering Orders, Drawing Change Notices and other verbal or written instructions.
SPECIAL WORK CONDITIONS AND AMERICANS WITH DISABILITY REQUIREMENTS:
Prolonged periods of standing, stooping, crouching, bending and stretching.
Lifting up to 50 lb. without assistance and over 50 lb. with assistance.
Constant exposure to general shop conditions, including machine noise and metal dust.
Constant repetitive use of hands, wrist, arms and vibratory hand tools.

Operate and maintain production to quality standards with moderate assistance, based on area and degree of difficulty
Check work using prescribed gauges or certified tools
Perform preventive maintenance on equipment per checklist at machine
Maintain good housekeeping practices, which includes keeping tools organized and burr dust and chips picked up
Safety glasses, steel toed shoes, ear plugs and any other safety related items as defined by the supervisor/lead person will be required. Also required are gloves when handling material with sharp edges
Proper disposal of hazardous waste as defined by supervisor/lead person
Become familiar and obtain knowledge of blueprints, mylars, Engineering Orders (E.O.), Statistical Process Controls (SPCs) and Drawing Change Notices (DCNs)
Learn and adhere to company policies and procedures
Assist in training new employees as directed by supervisor or lead person
Education & Experience
High School or equivalent.
Mechanical aptitude and good work ethic is desired.
Typically, 2 years manufacturing experience.
Level II: Major Activities Performed and Machines/Tools Used by Job Level See Level I Typical Job Requirements
Perform all of Level I typical job requirements with minimal assistance, based on area and degree of difficulty
Demonstrate good communication with both supervisor/lead person and co-workers and use time wisely
Adherence to Company policies and procedures
Able to locate on blueprint pertinent information such as dimensions, tolerance, etc.
Capable of setting up and performing requirements of major product families operating with moderate assistance based on degree of difficulty of part
Perform all of Level I typical job requirements
Capable of training Level I operators
Assist in leading projects
Education & Experience
High School or equivalent
Same as Level I with addition of being able to demonstrate proficiency in advanced Statistical Process Control (SPC) training, Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) training and skills in shop math
Typically, a minimum of three years handfinish experience
