Sign Maker / Shop Assistant

Become a part of our team as a Sign Maker / Shop Assistant in our thriving multi-division sign company based in Bellingham, WA. In 1992 we started as a full-service traffic control and road signage business; in 2008 we expanded by establishing a custom signage division.

As a Sign Maker you will assist with the production and fabrication of many projects, as well as efficiently complete various shop tasks. You should enjoy working with your hands and have a keen attention to detail. A Sign Maker is familiar with hand tools and possesses a willingness to learn about complex specifications. You are highly motivated, and work well in a fast-paced environment. You will learn our processes and policies, and should believe in the importance for personal and professional growth.

Sign Maker / Shop Assistant tasks include, but are not limited to:

• Utilize a cutter/plotter.
• Utilize tools for drilling & cutting materials (table saw, drill press, hand drill).
• Final packaging of signs & orders for shipping & delivery.
• Maintain an organized, clean and safe sign shop, yard and adjacent area.
• Provide customer service and support as needed.
• Assist Production Manager as directed.
• Installing signs and various labor work when needed.
• Running errands and picking up supplies as needed.
• Prep and load traffic control vehicles with signage.
• Welding and electrical experience is a plus.

The individual we are seeking will possess many of the following skills:

• Knowledge of various materials in the sign industry and/or willingness to learn
• Experience laying graphics to a variety of surfaces and materials. Including but not limited to vehicles, windows, walls, aluminum, etc.)
• Must be able to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Must be able to climb ladders.
• Willingness to help where needed.
• Experience with GS plot or Composer is a plus.
• Experience with Adobe Illustrator is a plus.
• Experience with any types of dimensional lettering and installations are a plus.

Interpersonal skills include: pro-active, self-starter attitude, ability to work independently and efficiently, friendly, professional attitude.

SALARY RANGE: $20.00 – 25.00 / HR – DOE. Full time preferred.
