This position is primarily responsible for coordinating all medical surgical procedures. This position will also be responsible for acting as the main point of contact with our Ambulatory Surgery Centers.

Responsibilities

This role is a busy which requires: flexibility, patience, ophthalmic knowledge, insurance knowledge, and the ability to pivot priorities multiples times in the day.

• Scheduler is responsible for: seeing all surgical candidates in clinic for assigned providers
• Scheduling appropriate appointments and follow-up appts from surgeries or in-office procedures
• Working knowledge of Ophthalmology
• Empathetic
• Someone who listens and is patient, along with advanced organizational skillset
• Being able to answer phones and return messages, daily
• Clinic is fast-paced and changes daily and while the current surgery scheduler is unique when it comes to knowing how to schedule all aspects of our surgeons areas of expertise

Qualifications

• 2 years experience as a scheduler in a medical setting
• Ophthalmology Experience Strongly Preferred
• Surgical scheduling, patient education and surgical consent experience required
• High school diploma or equivalent
