NVA is Hiring a Veterinary Technician - Rehab Near Anchorage, AK

Job Description

Southside Animal Hospital is a full service, state-of-the-art veterinary small animal facility and canine rehabilitation center, providing quality veterinary care to dogs, cats, and ferrets, through professionalism, compassion, dedication, and integrity. We are adding to our team and seek a full or part-time Veterinary Technician or Veterinary Assistant. Our ideal team member is reliable, organized, works well with others, has good communication skills, is compassionate, with a love of animals and their people.
Hours Worked: This position is available up to 40 hours per week. Shifts can be anytime during the hours of Monday – Friday from 7:00am – 6:00pm and Saturday from 8am – 12:00pm, closed Sunday. There is a rotating schedule for working Saturday shifts. Hours of operation may vary and flexibility to work any shift is a must.
Education and Skills:
High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
Veterinary technician license preferred but not required
Ability to work efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment
Dependability is a must!
Prior veterinary hospital experience is a plus
Willing to train an exceptional candidate, but MUST have previous animal care experience
Job Duties include, but are not limited to:
Calculating Drug Dosages
Administering Injections and Medications
Place IV Catheters
Intubate and Prep Animal for Surgery
Take Radiographs
Prepare/Process in-house/referral laboratory samples
The ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds
Assisting/running canine Rehabilitation appointments (use of class 3 laser and underwater treadmill)
Assist with general reception duties if/when needed
