Duties: Oversee the quality of medical services provided by all doctors and support staff. Examine, diagnose, treat, and manage cases presented to the Internal Medicine Department. Collaborate with the Hospital Director and Talent Development to recruit and hire high quality doctors. Manage and mentor associate doctors to ensure they exhibit leadership and teamwork as they practice the highest quality of medicine. Manage inpatient Internal Medicine cases on an ongoing basis, in conjunction with ICU/ER team. Lead by example by providing exceptional medical care to their patients and compassionate client service while working clinical shifts within their area of medical expertise. Work collaboratively with colleagues to adhere to high standard of care protocols for Internal Medicine patients. Work with Hospital Director to achieve hospital and departmental goals. Collaborate with the Hospital Director to support and enforce any licensure requirements. Support the development of hospital marketing materials by advising on medical accuracy. Support hospital Continuing Education and community events for both clients and rDVM's. Develop relationships with rDVM's to be a resource for them and to become their referral hospital of choice. Effectively convey the vision, and mission of Compassion-First and the hospital. Participate in the Medical Directors Advancement Council to facilitate collaboration and sharing of best medical practices across the Compassion-First network. Possess a working knowledge of Compassion-First policies and procedures. Perform Annual Doctor Reviews. Work closely with paraprofessional leadership to maintain culture, quality of medical care, and advancement of paraprofessional staff. Work with hospital director to approve new equipment or medication requests. Work with hospital director to build and maintain budget. Approve doctor PTO and monitor timesheets.
Requirements: Must have a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree or equivalent and 3 years of experience in the job offered or in a veterinarian-related occupation. Position requires experience in the following:
Licenses: Must be eligible for licensure in Washington. Required: Board Certification in Veterinary Internal Medicine or completion of Veterinary Internal Medicine residency with the expectation that board-certification exam will be taken within 12 months of start of employment.
