Overview

NV5, Inc. is seeking a highly motivated, self-driven Senior Staff Level ENGINEERING GEOLOGIST in our Ventura, CA office. The Ventura office provides consulting engineering services which include, conventional geotechnical services and construction materials testing services, as well as, advanced geotechnical engineering for hillside design, retaining structures, bridges, seismic analyses, and forensic geotechnical engineering. Our client base is in both the commercial and public sectors.

Responsibilities

• Perform geotechnical exploration including field mapping, drilling, and trenching for various geotechnical studies.
• Perform field observation and testing on grading and construction projects, including field density testing and concrete sampling and testing.
• Assist in geotechnical report preparation including exploration logs, map and cross section preparation, geotechnical analyses, and report writing.
• Perform miscellaneous field, office and laboratory duties in support of geotechnical studies and construction materials testing projects.

Qualifications

• Ideal candidates will have experience with public works and transportation projects.

Education/Qualifications:

• BS Geology / Geological Sciences (MS preferred)
• 1-4 yrs professional experience preferred.

Certifications/Licenses:

• CA Geologist-In-Training or Certified Engineering Geologist
• LA Deputy Grading Inspector preferred.
• Nuclear Gauge certification preferred.
• ACI Concrete Technician preferred.

The pay range for this California position is $XX- $XX per year; however, base pay offered may be higher or lower depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience of the candidate. Restricted stock units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the position offered.
