The NUWAY Alliance is a nonprofit organization created in October 2019 with a mission to provide leadership, innovation, and recovery access in response to national and local trends in behavioral healthcare. It provides overarching leadership and management to NUWAY, Cochran Recovery Services, The Gables, and the NUWAY Recovery Foundation. As a member of the multidisciplinary team, the Chemical Dependency Technician (CD Tech) will assist clients from admission through discharge providing client support through the extended substance and mental health treatment process. CD Tech’s supervise and manage client behavior and help manage client crisis situations when necessary. They assist on-duty counselors as required in direct support of program goals and objectives. CD Techs require self-confidence, professionalism and the ability to exercise individual discretion and judgment. They must manage competing demands on their time and adhere to program schedule and rules. This includes situations where a client may be under the influence of a controlled substance or struggling with mental health symptoms, the CD Tech will respond in a professional, therapeutic and positive manner. They must be able to react and respond to medical emergencies conveying a positive and professional image to clients, staff and visitors. CD Techs must be able to maintain client confidentiality in accordance with state and federal guidelines and HIPAA requirements.
