JOB SUMMARY:Assumes responsibility for planning, organizing, directing and coordinating the operations of the Department of Imaging Services inclusive of Diagnostic X-Ray, CT Scan, Nuclear Medicine, Ultrasound, Nursing and Clerical Support Services. Works in collaboration with the Medical Director to ensure the delivery of the highest quality diagnostic services to a specific group of neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult or geriatric patients consistent with the philosophy, goals, policies and procedures of the Department, Hospital Administration and all federal and local regulations. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide appropriate care to the age of the patient served on the nursing unit or by patient care departments.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education: Graduate of an approved school of Radiological Technology, B.S. in Allied Health Management or related field required. Masters Degree preferred.
Licensure/Registration/Certification: Certified by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology. Licensed by New York State Department of Health. Certified Radiology Administration (CRA) certification preferred.
Work Experience: Five to seven years of experience in Radiology with a minimum of three years in a Manager/Director level capacity. Working knowledge of Radiology Quality Control
practices. Experience in marketing, budgeting, staffing productivity and other important imaging administration functions.
Physical & Other Factors: Minimum physical effort required. Intermittent sitting and standing with freedom of movement. Minimal lifting, bending stooping, pushing and pulling.
Frequent periods of concentration dealing with complex policies and procedures while concurrently monitoring activities of others; frequent opportunity for diversification of tasks with no relief. Interfaces with fellow employees and public on a daily basis. Subject to irregular and weekend hours as needed.
Occasional overtime may impose home and social inconvenience. Regular volume of work and deadlines may impose strain on a routine basis. Interfaces with fellow employees and public on a daily basis.
