About the Position

Reporting to the Senior Brand Manager Youtheory, US the Associate Brand Manager- Category & Innovation, is responsible for the management and development of assigned categories through the achievement of financial and market share growth objectives. The successful candidate will develop product and category strategies including competitive analysis and analyzing consumption/sales data. They are expected to drive profit and revenue growth through innovation management, execution and business analysis. For this role, you will manage cross functional teams (both internal and possibly agency) for innovation projects (upfront stage), and develop impactful content strategies to drive purchase and trial across multiple channels.

Requirements

  • Managing the Innovation & Product portfolio – own tracking, reporting and management of innovation projects with cross0functional teams support. Share a data-driven vision for future launches and current portfolio optimizations/reforms as needed
  • Developing, recommending and leading the execution of innovation and product management projects with limited direction from Senior Brand Manager
  • Contributing to the development and implementation of category strategies
  • Heavy cross-functional collaboration : Your positive, welcoming and collaborative work style will enable you to move critical projects forward in a timely manner
  • Analyzing brands and market trends and recommending actions to be taken
  • Initiating and understanding market research projects to deliver powerful consumer and customer insights as the basis for long term brand growth and developing these insights into actionable plans
  • Smooth running of "daily business", i.e. briefing integrated marketing team, working with PR agency, liasing with e-comm and website teams, supporting sales with needed sell-in materials, etc.
  • Leading product strategy development for the assigned brand portfolio, ensuring that insights and data are utilized to form compelling business cases that clearly identify consumer need, product reason to believe, communications strategy (if relevant), competitive assessment, and sales & profit potential. Manage innovation through stage gate process, in conjunction with PMO support.
  • Interpreting consumption data and make recommendations to increase consumer sales
  • Conducting ongoing SKU rational & management process in partnership with Sales, S&T and Operations.
  • Ensuring compliance with all US regulatory standards and requirements.
  • Briefing the creative studio team on the development of creative strategy, packaging, copy development and in-market execution and work with them to get to best-in-class creative.
  • Be able to create the brief with limited direction from Senior Brand Manager

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Requirements

  • College or University undergrad Business Degree; MBA a plus
  • 1-3 years marketing experience within a consumer-facing brand. Experience in health and wellness, Vitamins/Supplements or Beauty is preferred 
  • Must be proficient in excel and be able to work with syndicated data sources (Tableau, Spins, IRI etc.)
  • Strong business acumen and track record of over-delivering results
  • Experience identifying unmet needs and trends that provide clear rational for innovation concepts/launches
  • Excellent time management/project management skills (ability to multitask and manage competing deadlines and multiple stakeholders demands)
  • A team player who can inspire and lead a cross-functional team. Posesses strong emotional intelligence
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • An entrepreneurial and creative spirit with the ability to drive projects forward, meet deadlines and work through ambiguity 
  • Must be proactive, self-motivated and resourceful in order to meet critical deadlines
  • Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with readiness to pivot and 
  • Strong passion for health and wellness
  • May need to take on other responsibilities as requested
