*Responsibilities:*
* Ensures the monthly close deadlines are timely met, account reconciliation and supporting documentation is maintained for all activities, account analysis is performed, prepares various packages as requested (e.g., cost report, tax, etc.), and assists in various projects as requested
* Assists with the monitoring of the financial performance and the maintenance of reasonable and appropriate financial plans and forecasts
* Oversee the overall financial operations of the organization
* Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
* Manage the preparation of financial statements, reports, and budgets
* Ensure compliance with accounting principles and regulatory requirements
* Conduct regular balance sheet reconciliations and general ledger reconciliations
* Monitor cash flow and manage accounts payable and receivable
* Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support decision-making processes
* Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
* Lead the annual audit process and coordinate with external auditors
* Stay updated on industry trends, changes in accounting regulations, and best practices
*Requirements:*
* Must have relevant F&A experience relating to insurance and billing cycles
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (Master's degree preferred)
* CPA certification is required
* Proven experience as a Director of Accounting or similar role
* Strong knowledge of fiscal management principles and practices
* Expertise in balance sheet reconciliation, general ledger reconciliation, and financial accounting
* Proficiency in cost management, technical accounting, and GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
* Familiarity with governmental accounting is a plus
* Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail
* Strong leadership abilities with the ability to effectively manage a team
* Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills
