Nurdsoft is looking for a Senior Engineer focusing on performance who plays a crucial role in optimizing the performance, reliability, and scalability of systems and applications. Here are some essential qualities and skills expected of a Senior Engineer specializing in performance engineering:

Position: Contract(Full-time)

Pay range: $60-$75 hourly

• Design and implement solutions to evaluate and improve the performance and scalability of SaaS / Cloud Native Platform, application, and Infrastructure.
• Root cause analysis of performance and scalability issues and resolve issues quickly.
• Identify application code bottlenecks that consume high database resources and resolve the bottlenecks.
• Profile Ruby/Rails application code in identifying performance bottlenecks in the code and optimizing the application code to improve performance.
• Work in an agile environment where quick iterations and good feedback are a way of life
• Continually look for opportunities to improve platform performance, reliability, and scalability.

• Performance profiling expertise of high-traffic Ruby/Rails applications.
• Strong analytical and programming skills in Ruby and Rails
• Experience with query optimization and web stack tuning (garbage collection, caching,
• throttling)
• Domain expert on public cloud, distributed system, microservices architecture
• Knowledge of performance and alert monitoring systems
• Demonstrated knowledge of systems software and understanding of the impact of locking, caching, and I/O on software performance
• Proven track record in bringing clarity to ambiguous situations. Ability to facilitate and arbitrate technical discussions and make challenging calls or recommendations;
• Work well in a distributed team environment
• Experience in monitoring and measurements using tools like InfluxDB, Prometheus, ELK/Kibana, and New Relic
• Experience in monitoring, analyzing, and identifying long-running queries on databases and fixing the code to improve performance in Ruby/Rails applications and MySQL databases.
