Responsibilities

The Director Accounting & Compliance will work closely and collaboratively on a day-to-day basis and communicate effectively with various departments within the segment and with the corporate finance team. Specific responsibilities will include the

• Leadership & management of NuCO2 accounting team including supervising 4 to 5 direct reports and ensure success of all individuals in the department as well as achieving departmental goals and objectives.
• Responsible for oversight of daily accounting operations,
• Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statement close process and activities including preparation of journal entries, accruals and reconciliation of balance sheet, general ledger and income statement accounts.
• Responsible for a consistent, timely, and accurate financial closes by workday 3 (WD3).
• Maintain fixed assets and depreciation models and reporting.
• Ensure accuracy of physical fixed asset inventory and reported results.
• Support the planning and execution of the physical inventory including analysis and reporting of results.
• Ensures clear control and visibility of assets and liabilities, including the development, implementation and compliance with internal controls in all areas. Accountable for Segregation of Duties (SODs) and assessment of compensating control effectiveness. This includes establishing a solid and periodic monitoring of the internal control's effectiveness and appropriately escalating business risks.
• Utilize experience with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance to enhance internal controls and financial reporting processes.
• Maintain ERP system (JDE) and processes and ensure proper reporting into consolidation system (HFM/Hyperion) and ensure adherence to GAAP.
• Support technical accounting research on complex accounting and reporting issues.
• Partner with IT/Business Process functions, for the strategic direction of financial systems including automation efforts required to leverage ERP capabilities in a dynamically growing company environment.
• Actively engage in governance, risk, and compliance initiatives.
• Actively participate in the development of annual operating plans and monthly forecast
• Support integration of acquisitions into the accounting operations processes.
• Self-motivated to identify areas of process improvement; recommend and implement improvements.
• Perform ad hoc projects & implementations as requested by management.

The successful candidate should possess the following qualifications:

• Manufacturing environment, cost accounting, general ledger reporting experience required.
• 10 -12 years of progressive responsible experience in accounting.
• 5 years supervisory/managerial experience with the ability and desire to train and coach others to improve performance.
• Preferences for Big 4, public accounting, CPA, cost accounting experience,
• Advanced level ERP - Minimum 3 years’ daily experience with an integrated ERP System, JDE and Hyperion Financial Management system (HFM) preferred.
• Advanced level Excel (VLOOKUP, macros, pivot tables, data sources, etc)
• Experienced with system implementation.
• Technical accounting and finance skills
