The Steel Operations Distribution Foreman reports to the Steel Operations Supervisor and manages all warehouse and yard activities for all personnel in the steel operations department.Responsibilities:Trains, develops, and manages the workforce within assigned warehouse areas to achieve the highest level of customer service Verifies that all employees arrive at assignments on time and are prepared to perform daily work assignments, including wearing all required PPEEnsures that all daily and pre-shift operational checks are performed on all material handling equipment, such as cranes and forklifts Ensures that all operational discrepancies and issues are reported immediately to the Operations Supervisor for repairsEnsures that all employees observe and maintain all company and safety policies and that a safe and clean work environment is always maintainedMaintains compliance with the material quality assurance programQualifications:5 years of related experienceMust possess a knowledge of steel products, both inventoried and buyout material Understanding of quality and safety standardsAbility to read drawings and technical specifications and identify errorsStrong organizational skills, multitasking skills, and attention to detailProficient with Microsoft Office Suite and related softwareGood judgment and decision-making skillsAbility to maintain confidentialityProfessional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skillsBenefits:North Shore Steel provides rich benefits to its full-time employees and their families, including, but not limited to, multiple Major Medical plans, Dental, Vision, Vol Life, Short Term Disability, and a Flex Spending Account.
