POSITION SUMMARY:

The OEM Commercial Manager is fully accountable for managing NPAA’s sales success at OEM accounts. This includes strategically managing company resources to achieve sales growth while maintaining existing account status. The role manages the Sales and on-site Field Technical Service teams. The OEM Commercial Manager drives action to insure short- and long-term growth for OEM accounts. Responsibilities include contract negotiation, pricing strategies, product launch leadership, budgeting for short and mid-term sales goals, compliance oversight, enforcing payment terms, customer interfacing, technology strategy development, and managing on-site technical service (FTS) to retain and expand company revenue and profitability.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Achieving growth and sales targets by successfully managing the sales team. Designing and implementing a strategic sales plan that expands the company’s customer base and ensures its strong presence.
  • Managing recruiting, objectives setting, coaching and performance monitoring of sales and FTS representatives.
  • Develops and implements strategic sales plans to accommodate corporate goals.
  • Build and promote strong, long-lasting customer relationships by partnering with them and understanding needs.
  • Present sales, revenue and realistic forecasts to the management team.
  • Identify and review emerging markets and market shifts while being fully aware of new products and competition.
  • Directs forecasting activities and sets performance goals accordingly.
  • Reviews market analyses to determine customer needs, price schedules, and discount rates.
  • Directs staffing, training, and performance evaluations to develop and control sales and FTS teams.
  • Assigns territory to sales representatives and sets regional expectations for performance of the sales team.
  • Analyzes sales statistics to formulate policy and assist in defining/promoting sales targets.
  • Directs product simplification and standardization to eliminate unprofitable items from sales line.
  • Represents Company at customer and trade association meetings to promote NPAA products.
  • Delivers sales presentations to key clients in coordination with sales representatives.
  • Meets with key clients assists sales representatives in maintaining relationships and negotiating and closing deals.
  • Analyzes and controls expenditures of division to conform to budgetary requirements.
  • Prepares periodic sales report showing sales volume, potential sales, and areas of proposed client base expansion.
  • Monitors and evaluates the activities and products of the competition.
  • Monitor customer trends and provide directions to Marketing Department.
  • Leads negotiations on claim disputes.
  • Coordinate customer corporate activities - goals and contracts.
  • Lead communications with OEM departments (Technical, Sales, Quality, Manufacturing, etc.)
  • Prioritizes and provides business justification for FOC samples, PBRs, hot production batches, expedites and technical development projects.
  • Manage FTS territory resource deployment.
  • Attending Monthly Sales & Operation meeting, providing changes in forecasting, program launch timing, share gains or losses. Present Customer/Industry trends which impact Supply Chain and Manufacturing groups.

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 4-year Degree and 10 years of OEM Automotive Coatings Sales and Field Technical Service leadership or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
