ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITY STATEMENT
Supports a culture of safe production and operations; follows all safety rules and procedures. Actively participates in the safety program by: engaging in training activities to learn what constitutes a safety hazard; reporting safety concerns to the supervisor, submitting safety suggestions, and correcting or reporting to the appropriate people when an employee sees a workplace health or safety hazard, until it is resolved. Assists with communicating safety information to new employees. Fulfills responsibilities as outlined in the company safety management plan.
QUALIFICATIONS
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Science degree, or Licensed by the state as a dietician nutritionist (LDN), and/or certification in nutrition science (CCN, RD, or CNS), or Associate degree with certification in nutrition science (CN or CNC). At least five to eight years’ experience in a supervised nutrition practice field preferred.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write emails, reports and business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, employees, wholesale customers, and the general public. Excellent telephone and customer service skills are required.
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Knowledge of common measurements used for food and dietary supplement labels; including the ability to calculate doses, amount needed for a certain number of days’ servings, etc.
REASONING ABILITY
Good problem solving skills required.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent time management, attention to detail, verbal and written communication skills, listening, and organization skills required. Excellent computer skills required, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and database skills required.
Knowledge of health food industry and its products preferred. Must have good customer service skills and have the ability to support customer service and sales with strong product knowledge.
