Medical Assistant, Hollidaysburg, PA (Altoona)

  • Direct Hire as an employee of Company
  • Hollidaysburg, PA
  • Daylight Schedule , Monday Friday 8 a.m. 4 : 30 p.m.
  • $ 1 7 .00 - $ 19 .00 per hour as new employee (performance pay raises available, after hire)

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS :

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong communication skills and excellent customer service skills required
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a medical office setting
  • Typing, general computer skills required
  • Knowledge of medical terminology

Responsibilities :

  • Assist patients with walking, transfers, dressing, collecting specimens, preparing for exams, etc.
  • Perform clinical screenings , phlebotomy, EKGs , lab work and collect vitals
  • Document patient medical records while complying with Health Insurance. Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other state and federal regulations
  • Prepare patient rooms , set up equipment
  • Clean exam / procedure rooms, instruments, and equipment between patient visits to maintain infection control
  • Obtain lab / x-ray reports, hospital notes, s chedule appointments , v erify insurance coverage and patient demographics
