We're seeking a talented Software Engineer to join our product development team in Annapolis Junction, MD. In this role, you will be a key player in all aspects of agile software design and development, including new capabilities development, testing, optimization, performance tuning, operation, and sustainment.
Position Requirements:
Experience
14 years as a Software Engineer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
Minimum 4 years of experience in high-level languages such as Java, C, C , or JavaScript for application software development.
Minimum 3 years of recent experience developing production software for Solaris and/or Linux OS.
Proficiency in Java programming for distributed systems, with networking and multi-threading experience.
Agile development experience.
Experience with source code management practices and tools, including Git, Maven, and Jira.
Education:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university (or substitute 4 years of additional SWE experience on similar projects).
Strong knowledge of Linux fundamentals and proficiency in at least one scripting language (e.g., Python, Ruby, Perl).
Familiarity with Continuous Integration / Continuous Testing tools like Bamboo, Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, and Continuous Monitoring tools like ELK Stack (ElasticSearch, Logstash, Kibana) and Nagios.
Familiarity with microservices software development techniques and container orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes).
Requirements:
Managing large-scale distributed systems, including multiple clusters across at least 3 equipment racks with a minimum of 60 nodes per site. (1 Year of Experience)
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Perl, or Python.( 3 Years of Experience)
Demonstrating a fundamental understanding of Linux, including managing user and group accounts, LDAP configuration, DHCP, DNS, and TFTP.(5 Years of Experience:)
Additional Qualifications:
Skilled in resolving issues in large-scale cloud systems.
Familiar with distributed data storage systems like Hadoop, CASSANDRA, SWIFT, and more.
Experienced in big data management and High-Performance Computing.
Effective team player within mission-focused teams, adhering to SOPs.
Strong communication skills, receptive to guidance from senior team members.
Committed to learning new technologies, capable of independent problem-solving.
Ability to mentor less experienced team members and lead technical projects.
Proficient in tools like Puppet and SALT for configuration management
Skilled in Linux PXE/Network provisioning, Anaconda Kickstart, RAID utilities, TFTP images, and disk detection.
Capable of diagnosing and remotely repairing hardware, familiarity with utilities like VNC, IPMI, and BIOS-level configuration.
Understands corporate architecture, openSSL, Java keystore management, and can troubleshoot commodity hardware platforms, including SGI/HP hardware.
