Job Title: Maintenance Technician /Mechanic
Job Summary: Maintains production, quality and safety by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment.
Industrial machinery maintenance, installation, troubleshooting and repair. Skilled and experienced in: AC/DC
electricity and circuits (up to 480 volts); use of digital multimeters; air and hydraulic controls; electrical prints and schematics; basic welding; fabrication, program instrumentation and temperature controllers; read and interpret mechanical drawings; use of basic maintenance shop equipment—lathes, milling machine, boring mill, grinders, etc.; installation of electrical conduit; AC motor drives; electrical contacts, magnetic starters and 3-phase equipment; installation and troubleshooting analog controls to PLC’s.
Typical Duties:
1. Responsible for following all food safety policies and procedures
2. Responsible for reporting any food safety risk and or violations of the food safety program to the Shift Supervisor or Senior Management.
3. Ensures operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on all equipment as well as provides process troubleshooting as needed.
4. Locates sources of problems by observing mechanical devices in operation; listening for problem; using precision measuring and testing instruments.
5. Removes/replaces defective parts in a safe manner.
6. Maintains equipment, parts, and supplies inventories by checking stock to determine inventory levels; anticipating needed parts.
7. Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
8. Must be able to do minor welding, brazing and cutting torch.
9. Be able to do minor repairs to truck, forklifts, etc.
10. Operate Jib Cranes and Forklifts in safe manner.
11. Wear safety equipment and obey safety rules.
12. Be able to make minor repairs to building using masonry, carpentry and/or cement work.
13. May work in other areas throughout the plant.
14. And / or other duties as may be assigned.
15. Participate in on-call rotation.
16. Perform duties required to maintain the SQF System for Food Safety Culture.
