Position Overview

Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) Analyst

Position Overview:

The Novelis Corporate FP&A team is seeking a Financial Planning and Analysis Analyst. The person in this role will report to Senior Manager, Corporate FP&A. This position provides a unique opportunity to collaborate with colleagues from diverse cultural & business context across the world at the corporate headquarter, from hands-on financial analysis and reports to strategic thinking and planning. The incumbent will also take part into our journey to the future of Finance with enhanced digital reporting tools and next generation planning & forecasting solution. With this in mind, we are looking for a humble yet innovative teammate who is eager to learn and grow with us.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the preparation of financial forecasts, budgets, and long-term financial plans for the company.
  • Perform variance analysis to identify discrepancies between actual and budgeted financial results, and provide explanations for such variances.
  • Compile and analyze financial data to support decision-making processes within the organization.
  • Collaborate with various departments to assemble relevant financial information and ensure accuracy of financial reports.
  • Collaborate with regional offices to assemble financial data and provide support in the analysis of regional performance.
  • Engage with various collaborators including department heads, regional managers, and executive leadership to understand business needs and provide financial insights.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of financial models to support business initiatives and strategic planning.
  • Prepare presentations and reports for senior management, summarizing financial performance and key insights.
  • Support month-end and year-end close processes by reconciling accounts and analyzing financial data.
  • Participate in ad-hoc financial analysis projects as needed to support business objectives

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required.
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively present financial information to diverse audiences.
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to handle several priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Consistently demonstrate willingness to learning and professional development in the field of finance.
  • Positive attitude with a proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to tackle new challenges.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and build relationships across departments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with tools such as Power BI, SQL coding, and OneStream
  • Prior experience or internships in finance, accounting, or FP&A roles
