Description

Novaspect, Inc., an Emerson Impact Partner and global leader of process systems and solutions, is currently offering an opportunity for a Combustion Controls Engineer to join our fast paced, customer oriented project engineering team. The successful candidate will assist our Engineering and Sales teams in the development and delivery of process control solutions for our industrial customers.

Combustion Controls Engineer Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Developing Project scope during initial Sales phase of Control Systems Projects
  • Performing Paid Design Studies to further define/scope Projects for Boiler Controls and Burner Management Systems
  • Defining control system designs and documentation during project implementation phase
  • Reviewing control system designs with customer team
  • Implementation of the design into the DeltaV control system
  • Internal and customer witnessed control system testing
  • Process simulation
  • Operator training
  • Supporting Sales with demonstrations and presentations for Boiler Control Applications
  • Process equipment installation and startup
  • Perform Boiler Tuning as part of startup or maintenance activities
  • Travel to customer facilities

Combustion Controls Engineer Additional Requirements:

  • Working as part of an Engineering and Sales Team
  • Meet project team commitments and deadlines
  • Work independently and as part of customer project team
  • Provide excellent oral and written communications

Requirements

 Combustion Controls Engineer Qualifications:

  • B.S. Degree in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or equivalent preferred
  • 5 – 10 years in the control system engineering field with on-site control system programming from scratch and making modifications to code and instrumentation experience required
  • 5 – 10 years of experience in Boiler Tuning and Burner Management System Implementation preferred
  • Detailed knowledge of NFPA codes 85 and 86
  • Ability to maintain permanent employment in the United States

 Combustion Controls Engineer Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 30lbs
  • Ability to stoop, crawl and crouch while viewing equipment
  • Ability to work extended hours on a computer
  • Ability to work in a loud industrial environment

 Combustion Controls Engineer Pay:

  • Cash compensation potential: $100,000-$150,000 (inclusive of base, bonus, OT)
  • Company car eligible
  • OT eligible

Combustion Controls Engineer Schedule:

  • Ability to travel throughout the designated service area (typically travel is by company vehicle and most events are day trips with up to 35% hotel stays depending on your home base).
