As an Industrialization Engineer, you’ll be responsible for industrialization activities for variety of electro-mechanical product development efforts in the business.
Job Description (primary Responsibilities)Work with cross-functional teams to achieve timely completion of all tasks related to industrialization and own design handoff process to manufacturing
Integral part of teams from specification to production phases and act as the conduit between development and manufacturing teams
Participates in monitoring and coordinating technologies to avoid unnecessary duplication of capital expenses
Promote ZDM (Zero Defect Manufacturing) mindset and culture into the organization
Promote better designs at lower costs by optimizing material selection and manufacturing processes and act as the DFM lead for projects
Additional Job Description
  • Promote design practices that ensure mistake-proof assemblies and be an advocate for DFA principles
  • Develop and/or provide oversight to production tooling and assembly fixtures to improve manufacturability of new products
  • Lead Process FMEA efforts within the business
  • Assist with product cost evaluations and the management of product cost
  • Participate in SKU rationalization discussions and lead supply chain simplification process to minimize number of new parts in designs
  • Lead product improvement discussions with manufacturing and quality to identify opportunities to improve manufacturability and lower product costs of existing products

RequirementsEducation
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field and 5 years of relevant experience.
Knowledge
Be knowledgeable in Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma principles.
Skill
Have experience in managing product cost and capital expense forecasts.
ExperiencePrior experience in being a part of electro-mechanical product teams
Skill
Proficient in 3D Computer Aided Design (CAD), preference for SolidWorks and other engineering tools.
