Technical Services and Claims Specialist
Job Description:
This position is based at the NIC located in Dalton GA. Reporting to both Technical Managers, supporting all Novalis products, accounts, and business efforts. Assist the Claims Specialists with data entry and claim evaluation as requested and working with all other departments to support and facilitate appropriate claim determination and resolution in a timely manner.
Prepare test samples, arrange, and drop of samples locally for independent testing. Assist with product testing and evaluation including performing in-house testing to ensure compliance with the appropriate ASTM specification for all products. Obtain, inspect, and produce detailed reports on retained samples, or attic stock, providing an accurate and complete analysis.
Communicate all-important product or contractor issues with the Director of Technical Services. Assist the claims department upon request with inspections, analyzing, and resolution, including letter writing. After sufficient training, you will be answering technical inquiries from end-users, flooring contractors, partners customers, and Novalis US, LLC. staff.
Responsibilities Include:
 
  • Arrange shipping and delivering samples to local laboratories.
  • Arrange or conduct internal testing of samples.
  • Travel between Dalton, Calhoun and other locations as required for product evaluation.
  • Perform OBA’s on materials when needed.
  • Assist all sales teams with product layouts for customers.
  • Occasional travel required for trade show installation assistance and field finishing/supervision.
  • Diligently inspect attic stock and factory retained samples, evaluate and document findings.
  • Assist claims and technical teams with claims evaluations as requested.
  • Organize, storage, log and maintain project samples after testing.
  • Set up and maintain all calibration logs for all designated laboratory equipment.
  • Perform all lab procedures and tests as instructed by the Technical Managers.
  • Enter claim data into ZOHO for selected accounts daily.
  • Wear appropriate safety equipment as needed.
Qualifications / Skills Required:
  • Outstanding “How may I help you” attitude.
  • Excellent communication skills, Spanish speaking (preferred).
  • Able to communicate effectively with people in difficult situations.
  • Proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
  • Team player with the ability to work across departments/functions.
  • Organized and goal oriented.
  • Flooring installation experience (not required, but preferred)
  • Ability to lift and carry cartons of flooring regularly (~50lbs.), working in an office, laboratory, and factory.
  • Ability to grow along with the development of this position.
