Essential Functions
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, and project managers to support the design and refinement processes of creating tooling used in the manufacturing of trailers at Novae LLC.
- Review technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics to determine the requirements for metal fabrication projects.
- Source material and consumables used on the building of tooling. Capture costs. Purchase material and consumables as directed by leadership.
- Collaborate with team members, including designers, engineers, and project managers to ensure project deadlines and objectives are met.
- Cut, bend, and shape metal components using a range of fabrication equipment such as saws, lathes, drill presses, and grinders.
- Weld or join metal components together using various techniques and methods including MIG, TIG, and ARC welding.
- Assemble and construct metal products, ensuring that the final product is accurate, functional, and meets the required specifications.
- Perform material handling functions using fork trucks and overhead cranes.
- Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet safety and quality standards.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Maintain and clean all metal fabrication tools, equipment, and machinery used in the workshop regularly.
- Develop personal knowledge of industry trends and advancements in metal fabrication techniques continuously.
- Proven experience as a Fabricator or a similar role in a manufacturing/fabrication environment, preferred.
- Strong technical knowledge of metal fabrication techniques, tools, and machinery.
- Excellent ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
- Able to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and work in a variety of physical positions.
- Expertise in welding techniques and procedures including MIG, TIG, and ARC.
- High attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot any issues that may arise during the fabrication process
- Excellent communication skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, and project managers.
- Willingness to continuously learn and adapt to new technologies and trends in the industry.
- Ability to prioritize workload and balance multiple projects simultaneously, including following through on commitments.
- Able to travel to locations throughout the organization to support the implementation of tooling within Manufacturing (less than 15% of the time would be spent traveling).
