NovaCare in Bowie Maryland is seeking a FULL TIME OCCUPATIONAL THERAPIST - HAND THERAPIST

NovaCare in Bowie, MD is seeking a full time occupational therapist (OT) for our hand program. An ideal OT is a certified hand therapist (CHT) or an OT with at least three years of upper extremity (UE) experience comfortable as the solo OT onsite. This is a multidisciplinary team with PTs and PTAs. We do have a local network of hand therapists and open to consider independent new graduate OTs with level II fieldwork in hands. Typical caseload will include a mix of UE and hand to include shoulders and some neuro diagnoses. We have the opportunity to be flexible on caseload based on your skillset and needed support. If you are a CHT, your primary focus will be a near 100% UE caseload. Full time for us starts at 32 hours and ideally we are seeking a 40 hour hand therapist. NO WEEKENDS. We can help you achieve your CHT with courses, test prep and CHT certification cost reimbursement.

Schedule: 40 hour work week Monday through Friday with two days treating until 700PM. Last patient is schedule an hour prior. 

Compensation: $80,000 commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities

• Understand appropriate state Practice Act and adhere to the laws that govern how Occupational Therapists may practice and whom Occupational Therapists may supervise.
• Develop objective patient goals and establish the type, frequency and duration of occupational therapy in collaboration with the referring physician.
• Responsible for the supervision and delegation of occupational therapy care for each patient within the guidelines of state rules and federal regulations.
• Demonstrate completion of patient care responsibilities and documentation requirements in an appropriate and timely manner.
• Provide comprehensive and individualized treatment programs.
• Participate in the design and implementation of new programs or procedures with the approval of the manager and referring physicians per HIPPA guidelines.
• Enhances, develops, and expands relationships with referral sources and maintains a positive level of interaction with facilities and clients.
• Stay current and up to date with Occupational Therapy research and employ Evidence Based Practice (RCB, clinician expertise, patient perception).

Qualifications

• Must be a graduate of an accredited school for Occupational Therapy
• National registration and state licensure or registration REQUIRED
• Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification
• Valid state driver’s license
