Executive Vice President (EVP), Engineering

Location: San Francisco, CA (on-site Tues, Wed, Thur, remote Mon Fri)

We are on a path to becoming the software leader for commercial and revenue-generating applications in the travel and transportation industry.

We are looking for an innovative leader to manage and build our 300 Engineering organization that delivers SaaS applications to some of the greatest airline and hospitality companies worldwide. Our mission is to transition the $800 billion industry away from decades old technology that diminishes their margins and stifles their customers’ experience. FLYR has grown 20x in the last 3 years and expects to continue building on our success for years to come.

Role Overview: As the EVP of Engineering, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our engineering strategy. You will lead a diverse and talented team of over 300 professionals across the United States and globally. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of scaling teams, managing M&A activities, and implementing customer-centric engineering practices. We are specifically looking for someone coming from a B2B background running Engineering Teams on a complex product to implement/integrate.

Key Responsibilities:

Engineering Strategy: Develop and own a comprehensive engineering strategy focused on scaling our platform, implementing AI/ML strategies, and leading the Engineering Team to achieve maximum growth in the next 3-5 years.

Team Leadership: Lead, inspire, and manage a high-performing team of 300 engineers, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and excellence.

Talent Acquisition and Development: Implement efficient recruiting practices to elevate the overall caliber of the team. Establish frameworks for role leveling, pay bands, career paths, and other initiatives to attract, develop, and retain top talent.

Operational Excellence: Design and implement development processes, build accurate forecasts, and ensure on-time delivery of shipping dates, achieving a 90% on-time delivery rate.

Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with Customer Success and Product teams to integrate customer feedback into the product, ultimately increasing the Net Promoter Score (NPS).

Qualifications:

-Significant experience in a B2B company where the product required a deep and complex professional services implementation

-Proven experience managing a 100 person engineering team, scaling it to be high-performing, and capable of going to the next level managing 300 .

-Track record of successfully integrating and managing M&A activities within the engineering domain.

Strong expertise in designing development processes, building accurate forecasts, and consistently meeting scheduled release dates.

-Demonstrated success in implementing customer-centric engineering practices and incorporating customer feedback into product development.
