Job Description
JOB SUMMARY
Prepare designs to assist in developing ideas generated by engineers, designs products and equipment, responsible for producing safe, technically accurate and cost-effective equipment.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist Project Leader, Senior Designer or Design Engineer in selection of the simpler components and the design details for inclusion in the project/product design.
  • Layout and design specific areas as assigned per the Company procedures and standards.
  • Design general arrangements or base systems based on customer needs and requirements.
  • Analyze data to determine feasibility of product proposal.
  • Prepare or direct preparation of product or system layout with detailed drawings and schematics.
  • Review work order and procedural manuals to determine critical content.
  • Calculate figures to convert design dimensions to resizing dimensions specified for subsequent production processes.
  • Assist in systems development as required, such as drafting standards, parts list systems, computer programming.
  • Perform other work-related tasks as assigned.
  • Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policies and procedures.
FACILITY/GROUP SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required.
  • Review customer specifications (scope of supply), create bills of materials and creation of drawings to support production in timely manner within budget.
  • Develop and maintain accurate 3-D models throughout project lifecycle.
  • Revise drawings and bills of materials for existing designs.
  • Collaborate with Engineers on design engineering tasks.
  • Provide design support for R&D tasks.
  • Support various applications related activities, including design reviews and product non-conformances (NCR's/MRB's).
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
  • 3-5 years of design experience of mechanical systems, preferably in the oil and gas industry
  • Knowledge of API 6A, 16A, NACE, ABS, DNVGL is a huge plus
  • 3-5 years of Creo (Pro-Engineer) experience.
  • Experience with designing of pressure vessels is preferred.
  • Experience in heavy equipment manufacturing is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD & T) to detail part drawings for manufacture.

  • Expert level proficiency in using Creo (Pro-Engineer)
  • Proficiency in using Windchill/PDM system is a huge plus.
  • Experience with Teamcenter is a huge plus.
  • Understanding of the manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with Teamcenter, Oracle, Creo and AutoCAD is a plus
