Job Summary
The Bakery Team Member is an essential role responsible for supporting the efficient operation of our bakery. Your responsibilities will include assisting to bake a variety of menu items, frosting cakes, crafting cakes, washing dishes, maintaining cleanliness of the bakery, and overseeing the daily operations during your assigned shifts. The Bakery Team Member embodies NbC core values and demonstrates a strong commitment to guest satisfaction as well as excellence and efficiency in the workplace. You’ll get to play party planner by helping guests order the right cake for their celebrations and making sure their orders go off without a hitch. Work Availability:
Employee must demonstrate the flexibility to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays, as dictated by changing business demands.
Qualifications and Skills
✓ Education: High school diploma or equivalent is often preferred.
✓ Attention to Detail: Attention to detail is needed when following recipes, reading tickets, and decorating cakes.
✓ Basic Math Skills: Necessary for measuring ingredients, taking inventory, and cash handling.
✓ Time Management: The ability to prioritize tasks, manage time efficiently, and work quickly and efficiently, especially during busy periods or when multiple orders need to be fulfilled simultaneously.
✓ Communication Skills: Effective communication with coworkers, supervisors, and customers is essential for ensuring smooth operations and meeting customer needs.
✓ Teamwork: Collaboration and the ability to work well as part of a team are important in a bakery setting.
✓ Technology: Comfortable with new technology and has the ability to operate a point-of-sale system
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
✓ Physical Demand: Must be able to lift up to 50lbs. The role involves prolonged periods of standing, lifting heavy boxes, bags and ingredients, bending, stooping, reaching, and repetitive movements.
✓ Temperature Variation: The role involves exposure to cold temperatures due to refrigeration units.
✓ Handling Equipment: Employees may need to operate bakery equipment such as mixer, oven and refrigerators.
✓ Fast-Paced Environment: The ability to work efficiently under pressure and multitask will be required.
✓ Cleanliness and Sanitation: Employees will be expected to clean work areas, equipment, and utensils regularly.
✓ Teamwork: Employees should be able to work effectively as part of a team.
✓ Customer Interaction: Strong customer service skills and a friendly demeanor is necessary.
