Department: Operations

Position reports to: Value Stream Manager

Summary:

Supervises Value Stream production processes, including people, equipment performance, and maintenance, while communicating key information to all team members.

Job Duties/Responsibilities (The "What"):
  • Oversees processes, including people and equipment performance to maximize efficiency and identify improvement
  • Provides leadership to plan, oversee, and coordinate production activities, meeting objectives for output, quality, delivery, and safety. This includes extensive interaction with production
  • Schedules and follows up on all scheduled and unscheduled maintenance requirements to include routine checks of maintenance documents for trends and follow
  • Provides accurate, timely information to the department manager on a daily basis in regards to shift and machine
  • Assists, supports, and leads the development of Lean processes through utilization and integration of Lean
  • Proactively completes Leader Standard Work, including, but not limited to: production reviews on each asset, updating production boards to effectively communicate to Employee-Owners, development of fishbone diagrams to find root cause,
  • Supports associate skill development, including apprentice training, cross- training, and leadership
  • Adheres to production schedule, and follows up with the pressroom and shipping departments for printed and raw material needs for all-shift operation. Includes making sure that finished jobs are promptly released to the next department according to the
  • Monitors all tooling and material inventory, and orders components as necessary.
  • Monitors the activity and productivity of all operators in the department on a daily basis and keeps the department manager updated on
  • Productivity reports in the ERP system, Lead process control checks, and asset white boards will be used for analysis.
  • Recognizes the importance of Quality in providing a competitive advantage. Supports the guiding principles and values of the Quality policy, SOPs, Lean initiatives, and cGMP programs. Reviews monthly spoilage and rework reports, performs trend analysis and works to affect relevant corrected and preventive measure for the root cause of rework or
  • Communicates and supports all policies and procedures related to environmental, safety, and
  • Provides departmental team members with regular objective or critical performance feedback which is based on established standards, policies, and procedures.

Requirements:
  • Ideal candidate will have high aspirations for a role beyond this one.
  • Experience in a supervisory role such as shift lead/Foremen or higher is expected.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, lead, and control the efforts of others.
  • Knowledge of Lean processes a must, experience with employing Lean processes a plus.
  • Effective communication (written, verbal, interpersonal) and leadership skills with the ability to analyze and review alternatives, then render decisions which are in the best interest of the organization.
  • Excellent attendance is required along with effective project management skills.
  • Ability to model a professional, fair, respectful, and proactive approach.
  • Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred/.
  • Possesses good working knowledge of the email system, Microsoft Word and Excel, and a familiarity with Microsoft PowerPoint.
