Fulfills the mission of Norwich University by providing retail support to the Uniform Store during peak hours.

Schedule: 8:00am - 4:00pm Monday - Friday. Starting in October to December 22, 2023. Schedule can be flexible during academic breaks.

Salary: $15/hour, or more depending on experience.

Essential Functions

• Accurately records register transactions.
• Accepts payment and makes change for customers.
• Accepts items for Laundry Services- tags and bags outgoing dry cleaning, hangs incoming dry cleaning, checks linen and personal laundry in and out for processing.
• Assists students with uniform exchanges.
• Restocks/labels inventory in store and in the warehouse.
• Maintains cleanliness of store
• Assists with opening and closing procedures.

Other Functions

• Maintains confidentiality of sensitive or private information.
• Communicates with employees, students, and others in a respectful and clear manner.
• Serves on University committees, councils, workgroups or other designated bodies as assigned.
• Achieves, maintains proficiency in, and utilizes computers, telephones, and other job-related equipment, including related systems and software.
• Speaks, reads and writes in English.
• Communicates by telephone, email, letter, in person, or other means or device.
• Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor.

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Experience in retail setting preferred.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical.
• Able to sit, squat, reach, push, pull, and manipulate related equipment; lift 35 pounds; travel outdoors to various parts of the campus.
• Work some evening or weekend hours.

Environmental Conditions

• Indoor work in a retail setting.
• Low level of exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vibrations, and temperature changes.
