Norton Healthcare is Hiring a Radiographer I, Medical Imaging, PT24 Near Madison, IN

Responsibilities

Working under moderate supervision, in compliance with regulatory, HIPAA, organizational, and departmental policy and procedure; delivers basic diagnostic imaging services in the outlying clinical sites to patients ranging in age from neonate through geriatric, using radiographic procedures and related techniques to produce images for interpretation by, or at the request of, a licensed practitioner while maintaining the standards of ethics for radiologic technologists.

Phlebotomy services and waived laboratory testing skills are also required in the outlying clinical sites to presenting patients, using approved laboratory techniques to obtain and/or process lab specimens for diagnostic purposes at the request of a licensed practitioner while maintaining the standards required of all King's Daughters' Health employees. (The radiographers in this position spend most of their time providing these laboratory services.)

Basic EKG services will also be required in some of the outlying clinical sites using approved cardio-pulmonary techniques to obtain an EKG strip for diagnostic purposes at the request of a licensed practitioner while maintaining the standards required of all King's Daughters' Health employees.

Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • Ability to assess problems related to duties and make independent judgments within the framework of established policies and procedures
  • Ability to set priorities and manage workload, accepting and completing assignments in a timely manner and to remember assignments and tasks
  • Ability to handle stress and emergency situations in a calm and professional manner
  • Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for the patient and family
  • Ensures work areas are safe, clean, stocked and orderly
  • Utilizes proper technique when lifting, transferring and ambulating patients for safety of self, patient, and other staff
  • Utilizes excellent customer service standards and Studer principles in communicating with patient, family and coworkers through use of verbal amenities, pleasant facial and body expressions as well as pleasant voice tone
  • Provides patient and family education as appropriate
  • Documentation of patient history and care as appropriate
  • Participation in departmental QAPI process and patient experience initiatives as requested

Qualifications

Required:

  • Graduate of a formal educational program acceptable to the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Certified or eligible for certification by the ARRT
  • Licensed or eligible for Indiana and Kentucky State Licenses
  • Venipuncture competent
  • EKG testing competent
  • Maintains AHA (American Heart Association) BLS (Basic Life Support)
