Northwoods Animal Hospital - Minocqua, WI , is excited to add another member to our team! We are looking for full-time and part-time Certified or Registered Veterinary Technicians. We live and work in a beautiful place. People that enjoy outdoor activities love living in the Northwoods. Our practice is one of the oldest, most established in the area with many long-time clients. We have a very collaborative team of great DVMs & support staff that foster a collaborative, learning environment.

Pay: $19-23 per hour
$500 sign on bonus

Hours of operation: M-F 8a-5p, Sat 8a-12p

Essential Functions:

• Able to perform basic animal handling and restraint
• Be able to accurately position for radiographs
• Assist veterinarians in the practice of veterinary medicine and surgery
• Perform in-hospital lab testing and prepare specimens for outside labs
• Assist veterinarians in outpatient exams by taking histories, vital signs, and weights as well as providing client education
• Must be able to draw blood, Collect and prepare diagnostic samples
• Anesthesia monitoring
• Assist in maintaining practice equipment
• Assist veterinarians in any other assigned tasks
• Assist with euthanasia, dental cleanings, trim toenails, administration of medication,
• Maintain cleanliness of surgery suite, treatment area, and exams rooms for all surfaces
• Must be able to fill prescriptions, check pets in/out for appointments and boarding.
• Support DEA compliance as it relates to the role
• Any other duties as assigned

Requirements/Qualifications

• Previous veterinary medicine experience
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to lift patients and carry equipment up to 40 pounds; ability to lift patients or carry equipment over 40 pounds with assistance
• Practice OSHA safety techniques including proper PPE
• Computer skills, MS office applications, etc.

Pay: $19.00 - $23.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
