Northwood Club is a rapidly growing with increased membership. The Club was established in 1946. We are a premier country club located in Dallas, Texas, best known for hosting the 1952 U.S. Open. We just re-opened our newly renovated PGA Championship Golf Course. The club has a Distinguished Clubs of the World Emerald Designation for outstanding member service. Our staff consists of a wide range of professionals who are well recognized in areas of Tennis, Golf and Culinary.

General Purpose: To work with the Purchasing Manager and to oversee the receiving of durable goods, farm products, non-durable goods and services. Delivery of received goods to the departments and/or persons specifically for the pool. Stocking additional items in store room, refrigerators or freezers. In charge of assisting with inventory and quality control. This is a seasonal position working 2-3 days per week in purchasing, additional hours are available working at the pool kitchen. Must be able to work Tuesday & Thursdays starting at 6:00 a.m.

Essential Duties:

  • Assist Purchasing Manager as needed.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the store room and receiving area.
  • Verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment: Compares identifying information and counts, weighs, or measures items of incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, invoices, orders, or other records.
  • Process requisitions and purchase orders for supplies and equipment.
  • Unpacks and examines incoming shipments, rejects damaged items, records shortages, and corresponds with shipper to rectify damages and shortages.
  • Properly store and put away all items in designated storage areas, refridgerators and/or freezers.
  • Delivers items to departments in a timely manner and ensures requisitions are obtained for all items.
  • Ensure delivery procedures are explained to all vendors.
  • Maintains flexibility to take on new and different tasks as directed by the Department Manager.
  • Incorporates safe work practices in job performance.

Education/Experience: High school diploma.

Language Skills: Required to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos; to write simple correspondence; to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other associates of the organization.

Mathematical Skills: May be required: to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; to compute rate, ratio, and percent.

Environment/Noise: Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions. Noise level is moderate.

Vision Requirements: Regularly uses close, distance, color, and peripheral vision as well as depth perception. Ability to adjust focus.

Physical Demands: Frequently stands and walks; uses hands to finger, feel or handle; reaches with arms and hands; stoops, kneels, crawls or crouches; talks or hears. Occasionally sits; climbs or balances. Frequently lifts up to 30 pounds and occasionally lifts up to 50 pounds.

Reasoning Ability: May be required: to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form; to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Certificates/Licenses: OSHA and Food Handler Safety Training required.

Ability to read and speak English may be required in order to perform the duties of the job (e.g. the associates may be required to communicate with English speaking customers or co-workers, the manuals for the equipment the associates may use are in English).
