Job Description

The Program Director, Marketing reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

The Program Director, Marketing is a strategic leader within marketing. They report to a Director and are key partners in helping develop the objectives and strategies that guide their team and the department. They may or may not have direct reports but they lead a functional area and teams of internal and external staff. 

The Program Director, Marketing is a change leader who energize others. They are instinctive collaborators, have strong communication and strategic thinking skills. They work with marketing teams including Brand, Service Line, Digital, Internal Communications, Media Relations, as well as other departments or service lines. 

Responsibilities:

  • Act as a creative thought leader on a variety of project assignments that involve developing creative assets and campaigns or promotion (video, photography, print, digital). This will include both ideation around an assignment and guiding the development of creative materials.
  • Provide structured ideas and input during the planning stages for an assignment, with the objective of raising the level of the creative output in the context of business objectives.
  • Explore creative scenarios that accomplish marketing and communication objectives and present alternative ideas to key stakeholders for a given project with a willingness to collaborate and problem solve.
  • Work in transparent partnership with other subject matter experts and client leads e.g., regional marketing, internal communications, brand, producer, outside vendors, video directors, and more.
  • Educate the marketing, communications and media relations department in regard to best practices for creative development and the process for accomplishing projects in a timely, quality manner.
  • Collaborate with social team to develop content that supports social programs.
  • Unlike an agency environment with many layers playing different roles, this leader must own every aspect of a creative project from beginning to end, including assignment briefing, concept the work based on assignment, presentation, oversight of production and finish as the lead creative.

Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of comparable experience.
  • Minimum 10 additional years of experience in the relevant marketing function.
  • Extensive experience managing multiple direct reports and client relationships
  • Proven track record and portfolio of effective creative output in multiple channels e.g., Print, Social Channels, Video, Design and more.
  • Ability to tell a story, beginning with pre-production story arch, interviewing, scripting and working with editors to assemble final product.
  • Experience in the production process (video, print, photography, social and more).

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree/MBA
  • Experience both inside and outside of healthcare and/or agency experience.
