The Diet Clerk reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
The Diet Clerk is responsible for communication between the Patient Care Units and Food & Nutrition regarding patient menus, diet changes and general patient services. This role must react accurately and effectively with all dietary changes to ensure efficient timing of service. The Diet Clerk communicates with dietitians, diet techs, department management, hospitality assistants and tray line staff. This indivudal must be familiar with Diet Manual and must be computer literate and be able to work on computer 90% of time scheduled. This position checks the tray line accurately and in a timely manner. The Diet Clerk ensures physicians’ orders are entered properly and promptly in Computrition when necessary.
