Northwest Title Family of Companies is Hiring a Title Officer - Real Estate Near Cincinnati, OH

Northwest Title is looking for a Title Officer to join our team.

Please note - this is an in-office role. This is not a remote position.

Location:

Cincinnati, Ohio , or Fort Mitchell, Kentucky

This is a great role for someone with several years of experience as an Abstractor, Title Examination Officer, or an experienced Real Estate Attorney or Paralegal.

What does the Title Officer at Northwest Title do?

Analyze the results of title searches/abstracts and apply state laws and/or underwriter guidelines to determine how to properly insure and convey title to real property.
Prepare title insurance products such as Commitments and Judicial Reports, and/or Attorney Opinions on title.
Identify items to be excluded from title insurance coverage, as well as identify the requirements needed, to insure title or clear/correct marketability objections.
This position requires title processing/ underwriting experience and good judgment in terms of when to ask questions and what is an acceptable risk to the Company.

What is the Title Officer at Northwest Title responsible for?

Determining the insurability of the title and accurately detecting title issues/clouds on title that must be resolved prior to closing.
Preparing title commitments (or other products) for each file, including an accurate legal description of the property.
Making decisions to protect our company from potential claims.
Reviewing and analyzing surveys and/or online imagery to determine encroachments or other issues that are to be included in the title product.
Working with Closing Services staff to resolve title issues and clouds on title and answer questions related to the items listed on the title product.
Remaining up to date on underwriting bulletins, changes in the law, risk assessment policies, and procedural changes.

Qualifications & Experience:

Title Officers must obtain and maintain a valid Title Insurance Agent license, issued by the Ohio Department of Insurance.
Responsibility to attend the appropriate number of continuing education course hours necessary to keep their license active and in good standing.
In-depth real estate title underwriting knowledge and experience, sufficient to underwrite residential transactions in Ohio, Kentucky, and other states in our coverage area.
Knowledge and ability to utilize title production & any other required software (i.e.: RamQuest, Microsoft Office Applications, Nuance) efficiently and in compliance with Company processes and requirements.

Must be willing to work in person at one of our Cincinnati, Ohio, or our Fort Mitchell, Kentucky office locations a significant majority of the time.
