    JOB DESCRIPTION: DATA AND APPLICATION SERVICES MANAGER
    Purpose: The Manager for Data and Application Services is responsible for designing, developing, and modifying the data management infrastructure to expedite data analysis and reporting for NSSEO. The Manager will implement policies and guidelines for data management and develop standard operating procedures for data handling and archiving.
    Reports to: Technology Coordinator
    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
    • Build, coordinate, manage, support, and monitor all district databases and applications (i.e., student information, food services, transportation, IEP management, assessment, etc.) to ensure efficient operations of these systems.
    • Coordinate NSSEO child count and SIS database.
    • Modify existing databases and database management systems as needed.
    • Set up and coordinate databases for state and local assessments including but not limited to IAR, ISA, DLM, ACCESS, PSAT, SAT, NWEA, KIDS, FastBridge, and others.
    • Ensure that necessary data is uploaded and/or communicated to resident school districts to meet required reporting tasks and timelines for ISBE reporting.
    • Ensure that appropriate data security measures are established and enacted to protect student and staff data.
    • Support adoption and roll-out for new software or applications within the District including integration with SIS and other existing data sources.
    • Provide ongoing support and technical assistance to NSSEO staff on the use of databases and applications to support district, state, and federal requirements.
    • Collaborate with the Technology Coordinator and Network Administrator on existing and new initiatives, planning efforts, and/or decision-making that impacts both data and technology services.
    • Assist with set up, data management and report design of the annual IDEA needs assessment.
    • Participate as an active member of the TEC Steering Committee.
    • Facilitate an office atmosphere of collaboration, positive communication and excellent customer service to programs and staff.
    • Assume responsibility for special projects as assigned.
    • Support NSSEO policy, NSSEO, and governing board goals and objectives, and The School Code of Illinois.
    JOB REQUIREMENTS:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics or equivalent experience
    • Experience and expertise in database management, design and implementation
    • Knowledge of Access Database, SQL, Google Data Studio
    • Strong Excel skills
    • Strong project management and analytical skills
    • Ability to make decisions and problem solve in accordance with established procedures
    • Ability to adapt to changing processes and technologies
    • Ability to read, write, analyze and interpret directions and communicate effectively with students and staff
    • Familiarity with online platforms such as Tyler SIS, Tyler Pulse, IWAS, TalentEd, EmbraceIEP is preferred
