General Description
Investigates allegations of abuse against people with disabilities and older adults as required under state and federal mandate.
Essential Functions
1. Investigates complaints or allegations of abuse, neglect, financial exploitation and serious self-neglect involving seniors, age 65 years and older, and persons with physical disabilities, age 18 years and older.
2. Performs assessments for case planning and intervention
3. Completes a written report that encompasses the evidence gathered during the investigation
4. Conducts investigations into allegations in facility settings.
5. Maintains confidentiality of the information gathered during the investigation in accordance to the Oregon Administrative Rules and Oregon Revised Statutes.
6. Serves as a Mandatory Reporter of suspected abuse of vulnerable populations as required by policy and regulation.

Minimum Qualifications - Experience and Training
A qualified applicant will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in social sciences, humanities, or liberal arts. In addition, the qualified applicant will have at least two (2) years of equivalent combination of education and experience, which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities required will be considered.

COVID-19 Vaccination Mandate
In accordance with the vaccination order issued by the state of Oregon all new hires in the position of Protective Services Worker must be fully vaccinated and provide proof of vaccination by the first day of employment. Proof of vaccination means documentation provided by a tribal, federal, state or local government, or a health care provider, that includes an individual’s name, date of birth, type of COVID-19 vaccination given, date or dates given, depending on whether it is a one-dose or two-dose vaccine, and the name/location of the health care provider or site where the vaccine was administered. Documentation may include but is not limited to a COVID-19 vaccination record card or a copy or digital picture of the vaccination record card, a print-out from the clinic, or the Oregon Health Authority’s immunization registry.
