Compensation: Licensed Salary Schedule
FTE: 1.0 - 190 days per year
NW REGIONAL ESD’S MISSION STATEMENT: In partnership with the communities we serve, Northwest Regional ESD improves student learning by providing equitable access to high quality services and support.General Description:To provide assistance to staff of component (local) school districts and the NWRESD regarding services for students suspected to be, or identified as eligible for special education services under the autism disability.
Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:- Requires Oregon license with Handicapped Learner or Severely Handicapped Learner endorsement in Special Education.
- Three years of experience working with students with autism.
- Driver’s license with accompanying automobile insurance.
- Personal vehicle for travel throughout the geographic area of assignment.
Essential Functions:- Completes District/Agency Service Plan with each Special Education Director within the service area assigned.
- Development and presentation of inservices and workshops designated in the service plans.
- Provide assistance to the local MDT with initial evaluations and re-evaluations for determining student eligibility for special education services under the category of Autism.
- Provide inservice training to staff and parents regarding behavioral and learning characteristics of children with autism.
- Assistance to local building staff in identifying staff and student needs.
- Assistance to the local building staff in its responsibility to develop, implement and monitor student programs.
- Provide effective communication with families and other professionals.
- Utilize appropriate strategies which facilitate team effectiveness.
- Participate at monthly staff meetings and programs inservices.
- Maintenance of records and reporting requirements as specified by the supervisor.
- Continuation of professional growth, especially in regard to current issues related to Autism.
- Provide consulting to local districts regarding special education eligibility, IFSP/IEP goals and objectives, and appropriate educational intervention and progress monitoring procedures.
- Performance of other related duties as requested.
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
- Work collaboratively and communicate effectively with staff and customers at all organizational levels.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

regularly required to talk or hear, stand, walk or sit. The employee is sometimes required to use their hands for
fine manipulation, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee is sometimes required to
stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl and taste or smell. The employee must sometimes lift and/or move up to 25
pounds and occasionally up to 60 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision,
distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision and be able to adjust focus.
