Front Office Patient Coordinator
Shift Hours: 7:30am- 4:00pm / 8:30am-5:00pm
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provides initial customer service to all patients including greeting patients, accurately scheduling and confirming patient appointments using a multi-line phone, responding to inquiries from patients and referral sources, performing data entry into the EHR system for patient information, and creating patient files
· Maintains patient accounts by obtaining, recording, and updating personal and financial information including accurate insurance and eligibility information
· Protects patients’ rights by maintaining confidentiality of personal information
· Obtains revenue by recording and collecting patient charges and collecting co-pays and other payments from patients in person or over the telephone
· Scans necessary documents and assists with ordering office supplies
· Prioritizes compliance with DEA regulations, HIPAA and OSHA
· Maintains all common waiting room
· Performs opening and closing duties and additional duties based on the needs of the business
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
**Knowledge of insurance carriers, primary and secondary insurance and insurance verification is preferred**

Ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environment, respecting and valuing the perspectives and experiences of others. Ability to work independently. Ability to react calmly and effectively during challenging interactions. Efficient time management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and organizational needs. Knowledge of computer systems and their software applications. Ability to input data in EHR and handle cash and correct change. Knowledge of HIPAA and common safety hazards and precautions used to maintain a safe work environment.
