PROGRAM: ChildCareMatters (CCM) Substitute Service Platform

JOB TITLE: Substitute Early Childhood Education (ECE) Teacher

REPORTS TO: Special Initiatives & Development Manager; Outreach Specialist

JOB STATUS: Part-Time, Non-Exempt

JOB SUMMARY:

The Substitute ECE Teacher provides emergency and planned support for local ECE facilities that are part of the ChildCareMatters Substitute Service Platform. General job duties will be those typically associated with providing quality childcare to children at ECE facilities. This position will have the opportunity to work with children, birth through school-age at a variety of childcare locations. This position offers flexible hours and the ability to choose which jobs and locations you prefer to work at, pending availability. This is a great job for someone looking for part-time work with a flexible schedule, such as a current student, recent graduate, or recently retired. This position has an anticipated starting date of May 2023.

JOB DUTIES:

• Implement the ECE facilities’ curriculum in a safe, effective manner.
• Create a safe, nurturing environment where children can play and learn.
• Work in partnership with and in support of the ECE facilities’ management and staff.
• Other duties as assigned that fall within reasonable childcare duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Active Child Development Associate (CDA) credential or willingness to obtain.
• Bachelor’s degree in an ECE-related field preferred.
• Previous experience in ECE settings preferred.
• Required certifications completed and on file within the CCM platform, including First Aid & CPR Certification, physical certification, FBI Fingerprinting, Child Abuse Clearance, State Police Criminal Records Check, Mandated Reporter Training and Health and Safety training.

NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

• Ability to operate the ChildCareMatters Substitute Service Platform via computer and/or mobile web browser.
• Outstanding customer service skills and the ability to interact with children and their families.
• Reliable transportation to ECE facilities within your selected notification distance.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• This position includes the normal physical demands associated with working with children including lifting, bending and carrying up to 40 pounds with ability to work in an indoor and outdoor environment.
• This position requires availability and flexibility to participate in services, programs and activities during regularly scheduled workdays, evenings and weekends.
• This is a self-employed position, which is not entitled to any employee-related benefits, such as Worker’s Compensation, Unemployment Compensation or healthcare. This self-employed position is fully responsible for reporting earnings to Federal, State and Local Tax Authorities.

Pay: $12.00 - $20.00 per hour
