Part-Time Medical Assistant

We are independently owned and patient-focused with three clinic locations and over 100 healthcare providers, support staff and administrative professionals working as a team to deliver outstanding health care.

This position is primarily responsible for participating in the care of the patients under direct supervision of the medical provider in collaboration with the healthcare team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

1. Performs preliminary patient examination such as taking vital, verifying medications and allergies and documenting them. Educates the patient about the visit.
2. Performs various telephone duties such as informing patients of test results, and relaying information, so that communication between clinic and patient is clear and concise.
3. Documents all pertinent information in the patient’s chart so that the history is up to date and accurate.
4. Determines the appropriate steps to take in an emergency situation, whether it is on the phone or in the clinic.
5. Assists providers with procedures as required by the provider.
6. Administers immunizations and medication by provider orders.
7. Cleans and stocks patient examination rooms, sterilizes and maintains equipment and supplies so they are available as needed. Ensures that spoiled linens, containers, and potential infectious waste are appropriately disposed of according to the infectious control guidelines.
8. Maintains confidentiality by keeping all patient and medical information seen and heard in the strictest confidence.
9. May perform basic essential in-house lab work.
10. Other duties as assigned.

• Must be an MA, CMA, or RMA with current state certification.
• Have knowledge of electronic medical records.
• Excellent teamwork abilities
• Excellent communication/listening/customer service skills
• Willing to work in a fast paced environment while handling multiple tasks with accuracy.
• Computer knowledge to use scheduling software and Microsoft Suite
• Ability to travel between three sites locally.
