Job Summary:
The Northwest Commission, an eight-county regional economic development agency, is seeking a full-time Government Contracting Specialist to educate and counsel businesses in NW PA on how to do business with the government; federal, state and local.
Responsibilities (The essential functions of the job include but are not limited to the following):
- Seek out new APEX Accelerator clients and follow up with current clients to provide assistance with their government contracting efforts. Document all exchanges between client and specialist in the specific database
-Meet face to face, virtually or via phone with clients to assist in the development of a Plan of Action & Milestones (POAM) with efforts to become a qualified government contractor and/or subcontractor. Provide the appropriate technical assistance, information and resources necessary to be successful
-Assist Program Manager with federal and state funding reporting requirements on a quarterly and annual basis
-Assist Program Manager with marketing efforts, newsletters and social media accounts; workshops, event planning, development of marketing materials and event registrations; development of training materials and presentations for public workshops
-Participate in related advisory boards, task forces, activities, events and partnerships on behalf of the Northwest Commission or representative of the Government Procurement Program
-Adhere to all current Solicitation for Cooperative Agreement Application’s (SCAA) terms and conditions, which includes meeting annual performance goals in order to be compliant
-Attend trainings/seminars to support professional development.
Requirements:
- Post-secondary education required, associate degree or bachelor's degree preferred
-Excellent communication, computer, networking, and interpersonal skills; adept at conducting research; and maintain a high-level of attention to detail and maintain confidentiality
-Possess valid drivers' license and be capable to operate a vehicle
Compensation and Benefits:
- Hourly rate commensurate with experience

- 35-hour workweek (Non-exempt)
