Northwest Children's Home is Hiring a Fundraiser Near Lewiston, ID

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Fundraiser is responsible for continual growth and development of the existing donor base and funding sources. This position plans, oversees and executes all fundraising events and campaigns on behalf of the organization.

Leveraging technology and social media, this position will create promotional and informational materials to increase awareness and donor support. The Fundraiser will present to donors, businesses and other potential partners in the community in order to build understanding and support of the organization’s mission and goals.

This position will regularly assess performance of fundraising efforts in all areas and make changes in order to meet and/or surpass financial goals. The Fundraiser will collaborate with the Administrative Team and Board of Directors in order to align fundraising efforts with the overall goals and strategic plan of the organization.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED Equivalent.
  • A valid state issued driver’s license.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States and able to provide verification.
  • Able to pass required Background Checks.
  • Able to complete and maintain all training requirements per agency policy and procedures.
  • Working knowledge of donor database software.
  • Public speaking experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or other related field.
  • Advanced knowledge of social media in relation to marketing strategy.
  • Experience analyzing financial reports.
  • One year of fundraising experience.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (for illustrative purposes):

DONOR & COMMUNITY RELATIONS

  1. Continually grow and develop the existing donor base and funding sources.
  2. Present to donors, businesses and other potential partners in the community in order to build understanding and support of the organization’s mission and goals.
  3. Oversee and update the agency donor database and mailing lists.
  4. Network and have regular involvement with a variety of applicable community organizations, clubs and businesses.
  5. Attend local events representing the agency and promote community awareness.
  6. In partnership with the Administrative Team, plan and host community events surrounding Trauma Informed Care (TIC) education.
  7. Promote regular, positive and progressive representation of the agency in the community and surrounding areas.
  8. Serve as a member of the LCV Chamber of Commerce on behalf of the agency.
  9. Create and process monthly thank you letters.

EVENTS & COMMITTEES

  1. Oversee and manage the Development Committee.
  2. Plan and facilitate monthly Development Committee meetings.
  3. Create and maintain a sponsorship menu for agency events.
  4. Oversee and execute all fundraising events and campaigns on behalf of the organization.
  5. Organize and manage volunteers for agency events within policy and procedure.
  6. Secure sponsors and item donations for agency events.
  7. Coordinate set up and tear down for all agency events.
  8. Collaborate with the Administrative Team and Board of Directors in order to align fundraising efforts with the overall goals and strategic plan of the organization.
  9. Regularly assess performance of fundraising efforts in all areas and make changes in order to meet and/or surpass financial goals.

ADVERTISING & SOCIAL MEDIA

  1. Manage agency social media accounts and engage with audience on said platforms.
  2. In coordination with the Administrative Team, maintain the agency website.
  3. In collaboration with the Human Resources Administrator, maintain consistent branding for agency across all platforms.
  4. Update agency fundraising forms and documentation as needed.
  5. Monitor and update the website donation platform.
  6. Coordinate with external agencies as applicable for advertising via radio, television, print, etc.
  7. Create promotional and informational materials to increase awareness and donor support.
  8. Partner with the Human Resources Administrator to create a bi-annual agency newsletter.

REPORTING

  1. Provide a monthly Board report for the Development Department to the Human Resources Administrator.
  2. Complete daily coding and processing of gifts and pledges to ensure accuracy with the annual budget.
  3. In coordination with the Human Resources Administrator, develop an annual department budget.
  4. In coordination with the Finance/Business Administrator, produce an Annual Report.
  5. Ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures and external requirements including but not limited to all State and Federal laws and regulations.
  6. Receive and process non-cash donations.
  7. Ensure adherence to all required State and/or Federal solicitation regulations.
  8. Reconcile revenue and expense numbers with the Finance/Business Administrator following each agency event to ensure the Administrator has all information to create the final financial report.
  9. Process receipts for all donations.
  10. Create and send a year end donation summary to all donors.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS

  1. Occasional moving of heavy objects (up to 25 pounds).
  2. Sitting for prolonged periods of time.
  3. Prolonged periods of keyboard and telephone use.
  4. Occasional moving and positioning self to complete tasks.
  5. Ability to operate and utilize objects, tools, equipment, supplies and controls.
  6. Must be able to effectively communicate with clients, co-workers, and other third parties in person, in writing, and remotely and must be able to use technology to review information and enter/retrieve data.

WORKING CONDITIONS

  1. Trainings, meetings and other duties occasionally occurring in various buildings on agency property.
  2. Events and various meetings to occur frequently in the community.
  3. Ability and willingness to work occasional weekends and evenings to facilitate and attend meetings and events.
  4. Occasional supervised interaction with clients with various mental and physical conditions, including clients who could potentially be carrying an infectious or communicable virus, pathogen or disease.
  5. Occasional supervised interaction with clients who may act out physically, verbally or otherwise.
  6. Ensuring proper cleaning and sanitization that may involve the use of chemicals.
  7. Work completed primarily indoors.
