Responsibilities

Scope: To support the activities of the Sports & Fitness ministry in the effort to reach people in and outside of the church with the gospel of Jesus through the platforms of sports, fitness, and recreation.

Employee Type: Part time, 24 hours

Schedule: Monday - Friday Evenings and Saturdays 9am - 1pm

• Partner with the Sports & Fitness Ministry Assistant to create an environment and develop programs that will support the mission of the ministry.
• Own assigned administrative and organizational needs of the Sports & Fitness ministry.
• Ensure that all Sports & Fitness activities are planned, implemented, evaluated, and in line with the mission of the ministry.
• Assist in the coordination of ministry schedules and ministry partner engagement (including outside trainers/instructors).
• Cultivate a culture where registration and check-in procedures are honored and met.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with the Northwest Bible Church staff, operations team, ministry partners, and gym participants to ensure efficient and appropriate operations.
• Assist in the creation and implementation of ongoing marketing promotions.
• Maintain equipment and organizational systems that promote clean and efficient operation in the facility.
• Establish and enforce rules and protocol in adherence to safety, emergency, and professional standards.
• Contribute to the creation and implementation of marketing promotions.
• Recruit and train volunteer leaders who ‘live out’ the mission of the ministry.
• Equip and support leadership (both staff and volunteers) through appropriate training and education.
• Other tasks as requested or assigned by the Sports and Fitness Minister and Sports and Fitness Ministry Assistant.

Qualifications

As a religious organization, all employees must affirm and adhere to the Church’s Doctrinal Statement of Faith and Statement on Marriage and Human Sexuality based upon its sincerely held religious beliefs, to qualify for involvement with the ministry. This is necessary to accomplish the Church’s religious mission, goals, and purpose.

• Exhibit a growing relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and as Lord.
• Attained or working toward a high school, bachelor’s or master’s degree.
• Relationally minded and gifted to connect with and encourage people.
• Relevant experience in fitness and/or recreation.
• Prior experience attending or leading an effective ministry.
• Engaging communicator of God’s word in practical terms.
• Proven history of organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and oral.
• Relationally minded and gifted to connect with and encourage people.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Preferred: Active attendance and participation at Northwest Bible Church
