Northwest Autism Center is Hiring a Speech & Language Pathologist Near Spokane, WA

Northwest Autism Center in beautiful Spokane, Washington is seeking an energetic and innovative Speech Language Pathologist to work full time in our Early Intensive 48-Day ABA clinic, as well as provide speech treatment to individuals with speech, language and communication needs in the community. Our ABA clinic serves children (age 2 – 5 years old) with ASD and other neurodevelopmental disabilities, and their families. The Speech and Language clinic operates separately to support children and adolescents in our community with speech and language needs. Services are provided individually as well as in small groups. Preference will be given to candidates with a robust foundation in the use of AAC and AAC devices.

As the only nonprofit ABA organization in the Inland Pacific Northwest, Northwest Autism Center’s mission is to support, facilitate and build accessible and comprehensive community-based approaches to help children and adults with autism spectrum disorders and other developmental disabilities in the Inland Northwest. You won’t find this range of service provision anywhere else!

Successful SLP candidates will have the required education, knowledge and experience (as outlined below), and be able to work a minimum of 32 hours per week. (Schedules can be flexible based on client needs and general workload.)

Essential Job Duties:

Working in tandem with clinic leadership, general responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct evaluations, write treatment plans, complete progress reports and transition/discharge plans based on data as required by clinical leadership
  • Provide direct treatment to individuals and small groups of clients as assigned
  • Continual management and archiving of client files
  • Collect real-time data, complete SOAP notes and other documentation of treatment and services as required
  • Provide caregiver training and support on specific speech and language topics as needed
  • Coordinate care with medical and other service providers as appropriate
  • Provide speech services coverage when other SLP is unavailable
  • Collaborate with SLP, LBAs, LABAs, clinic leadership, internal staff, and other professionals to provide the best treatment and support for clients
  • Provide Behavior Technicians (BTs) guidance and feedback to ensure communication strategies are delivered with validity and reliability and in alignment with client communication treatment planning.
  • Establish and implement practices to promote the care, safety and health of each client across all program environments
  • Timely response to feedback and suggestions from direct supervisor and other members of the collaborative team.
  • Participate in weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual meetings/trainings as required by NAC, or for certification/safety/compliance purposes
  • Participate in activities/events to support the growth and development of Northwest Autism Center
  • Abide by all NAC Policies & Procedures
  • Other duties as directed
