Camp Summer Coordinator is responsible for organizing tasks to ensure summer culinary camps run smoothly. The job includes overseeing and managing Future chef campers at lunch time, as well as moderating any issues or concerns that may arise with campers.
this is a part-time role for six weeks in the summer. camp date last 3 weeks of June and last 3 weeks of July. expected commitment about 25 hr / week, be available m-f 11 : 30am-4 : 30pm.
oversee lunch. to succeed as the culinary camp coordinate, you should be organized, passionate about helping children learn, and enjoy working around food.
leadership and management skills are essential for this role.
Essential duties
Work with lead chef instructors, and chef assistants to ensure camp runs smoothly
Attend Future Chefs Food Camps orientation.
Communicate effectively with parents of camp participants, print recipe packets, ensure adequate supplies (including hats for campers) are available
Assist in organize 8th Street Market field trips, as appropriate
Support chef instructors during weeks of camp and be able to step in if needed
Provide feedback for final assessment after camps finish and note improvement for next year
Track camp costs
Compensation $3,500 paid after camp completion

Demonstrated ability to multi-task.
Demonstrated ability to follow instruction and ask clarifying questions.
Must possess a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
Good communication including listening skills required.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks to meet deadlines.
Demonstrated ability to interact with other departments and guests.
Must have the ability to work a flexible schedule.
A strong interest in food and cooking preferred.
A familiarity with and appreciation for Brightwater, NWACC, and its programs.

Qualifications and Education Requirements
Ability to effectively lead and manage others, especially children aged 9-17
Experience working with children
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
High level of responsibility and accountability
Teaching degree or culinary degree preferred
Experience at Brightwater and / or NWACC with general knowledge of Brightwater's vision, mission, and general approach is ideal.
Background in education, nutrition and dietetics, and / or public health is ideal. First aid and / or CPR training is beneficial.
