NORTHWEST ARKANSAS CHILDRENS SHELTER INC is Hiring a Case Manager Near Bentonville, AR

THE POSITION:
Maintain a caseload of residents. Develop and maintain an individualized case plan in order to maximize
residents potential for success during their stay at the shelter and in future placements. Coordinate, monitor,
and advocate for services and link residents with community resources to ensure medical, developmental,
emotional, and social needs of the residents are met. Support the environment, staff, and residents at the
shelter.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a caseload of assigned residents.
  • In collaboration with the on-duty supervisor and/or Director of Youth Services or Designee, make
decisions regarding the placement, discharge, or removal of children at NWACS.
  • Assist in the completion of the intake process as needed; make an initial contact with the residents by
establishing rapport, determine any immediate needs, and orient resident to the shelter/milieu.
- Develop and maintain a supportive relationship with residents that fosters skill-building and self-
determination.
  • With collaboration from staff, DHS, and residents, develop an individual case plan with identified goals;
monitor and update goals based on an ongoing assessment of progress and changing needs.
  • Ensure that all resident files and database entries are up to date with the required information; initiate
and update case plans for each resident on your caseload and update the residents OneNote face
sheet; submit discharge summary.
  • Participate in internal team staffing with therapists, supervisors, educators, management, and direct
care staff.
  • Participate in individual supervision and case review bi-weekly or as determined by Director of Youth
Services or Designee.
  • Participate in activities aimed at quality control, program development, staff development, or as
assigned.
  • Maintain positive communication and rapport with DHS and other community agencies/service
providers regarding residents progress, services, and needs.
  • Maintain a collaborative working relationship with therapeutic team providing services to residents
on-site to include regular communication for consultation and feedback.
  • Attend any appointments, meetings, or court hearings, as needed, on behalf of the resident.
  • Assist age-appropriate residents in completing exit interviews before discharge and submission.
  • Participate in supervisor and direct care orientation and on-going development by providing training in
essential functions and other topics as needed.
  • Complete on call duties on a rotating basis with other case managers. Be available at all times while
on call via telephone or in person. Make appropriate decisions while on call in accordance with
policies and procedures.
  • Review Accident/Incident reports daily and take further action if needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes
  • Flexibility in personal scheduling and meeting a variety of shelter needs.
  • Basic proficiency in use of computers and software.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Flexibility, reliability, and self-motivation.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Twenty-one years of age or older.
  • Bachelors degree in a human services field, or a bachelors degree and two years work experience in
a human services field.
  • A degree in Early Childhood Development is preferred if providing case management for that
population.
  • Physical ability to use authorized techniques for the management of aggressive behaviors.
  • Physical stamina and agility are required to care for young, active children.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.
  • Must pass all criminal history and child maltreatment background checks.
  • Must submit to a pre-employment drug screen as well as random drug screens when directed.
  • Valid drivers license, proof of personal automobile insurance, and acceptable driving record.
