Position: Residential Counselor

Position Type: Full-time, Part-Time, Temp On-Call Non-Exempt

Pay Range: $17.00 - 21.00 per hour ( $1.00/hr. for overnights)

Work Location: Boulder, Colorado (Ward)

NorthStar Transitions, LLC empowers people to navigate real life recovery. On top of our comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and trauma informed care curriculum, we focus experientially and somatically to teach clients how to disrupt their reflexive pattern of behavior, moving them beyond their addiction. Disrupting this pattern enables us to work through stuck traumas and co-occurring disorders and gives our clients tangible skills to create response instead of their ingrained reaction.

NorthStar Transitions currently has an opportunity regular Full-Time Residential Counselor as well as Part-Time On- Call positions to work in our residential substance abuse treatment facilities in (Ward) Boulder, CO.

This is a great opportunity for entry-level and experienced counselors who have an interest in working with clients with substance / addictions disorders, especially candidates who are pursuing or are interested in pursuing their Certified Addictions Counselor in Colorado!

Schedule: 8:00am - 8:00pm and 8:00pm - 8:00am

Job Responsibilities Include:

• Conduct rounds to monitor clients;
• Enforce program rules and expectations;
• Support implementation and practice of evidence based modalities;
• Drive clients to and from activities and appointments;
• Administer UA and BA tests;
• Facilitate and participate in therapeutic groups and activities (with therapist permission);
• Conduct searches of clients and client possessions/rooms;
• Ensure facility is organized and well maintained;
• Comply with State and Federal laws including HIPAA; and
• Problem solve as issues arise.

Desired Skills and Experience

Minimum Experience, Skills, and Qualifications

• Entry Level to 5 years experience working with Substance/Addictions environment.
• Strong problem solving and forward thinking skills.
• Cultural Competency.
• Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills.
• Experience in Healthcare, specifically substance abuse and/or addictions helpful.
