Equipment Operator

Job Summary

The Equipment Operator of the Fertilizer Plant will assist and perform a wide range of activities under the direction of the Site Manager to ensure the plant is running smoothly. This position will be responsible for assisting in mixing, blending of fertilizer, maintenance of the fertilizer plant, as well as product delivery, spreader, and loader operations. This position will also assist in dispatching and processing loads.

Key Responsibilities

· Assist in operations in the fertilizer plant

· Product delivery

· Loader operations

· Fill tower

· Move pull spreaders and rail cars

· Operate a forklift and other equipment

· Mixing and blending of fertilizer

· Fertilizer bagging

· Plant maintenance, including cleaning, changing motors and greasing bearings

Additional Duties

· Processing loads

· Assisting in dispatch of fertilizer drivers

· Knowledge of computer software

· Building maintenance

· Perform various grain handling activities including running the scales, sampling loads, and unloading trucks

· Weekend work as needed

· Perform other duties as assigned

Job Qualifications

· High school degree or equivalent

· Must have and maintain a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record

· Ability to lift 60 pounds, climb ladders and operate a pallet jack with 2,000 pounds of material

· Must have knowledge of mechanical systems and tools required for general maintenance

· Strong sense of teamwork and clear communication skills

· Conform to operating rules and safety procedures and maintain a high level of safety awareness in the work environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.15 - $24.47 per hour
